About us – My name is Erwin Janszen

Besides running my own business (Pelatis Innovation: Professionally building and managing WordPress website and web stores), I do a lot of sports.
That ranges from mountain hiking, rock climbing, cycling, mountain biking, tennis and most importantly, association field hockey refereeing.

Of course, I myself have personally used the communication sets on this website for many years. And funny enough so not for one specific sport, but wherever I stupidly need communication simply because circumstances demand it.
My set (EJEAS V6 netphone) is now over 12 years old and still doing perfectly. Rain, high humidity, scorching sun, none of it matters: it just keeps working. And for years so. Impressive!

I now started putting the sets together myself because although as an individual you can easily order the individual units from bol.com like this, you don’t get the right accessories with them. Those are very hard to find, and then again, often you can’t order them separately or they cost a mountain in shipping and import duties. I found the right accessories and immediately imported them in bulk to make nice complete sets.
Sets that just do it, without fuss and with a Dutch manual. Handy right!

Field hockey

Growing up in a time when communication between the two referees during a match was mainly done visually with hand gestures and a little later with walkie-talkies, it was a relief to finally be able to communicate with your fellow referee through an “open line” permanently, clearly and distinctly.

I got to try out several “sets” as a field hockey referee. From a simple solution with two cell phones that were in conversation with each other, a solution of the brand WHIS, used at riding schools between instructor and rider, the “motorcyclist’s set” already widely used nationally and internationally, to the “more expensive” AXIWI – solution of the Hockey Association. All have their advantages and disadvantages, as well as their prices.

With it will come as no surprise that my personal preference is the EJEAS V6 Pro communications kit. And by 2024 I have switched to the EJEAS V4C PRO (the improved version of the V6)

Climbing / Top Ropes

For example, on a vacation in Italy, I was rock climbing (for the insiders: “Top-ropening”) in a climbing area right next to a river. My buddy below, who was thus fusing me, could not understand me after about 10 meters of climbing due to the noise of the running water. Fortunately, I had the communications kit in the back of the car and voila!

Mountain biking

Another example is in mountain biking. Here in Lemele and surrounding areas we have some beautiful tracks lying in mountainous and wooded areas. Pretty busy sometimes, especially on Saturdays. Cycling with a buddy then is a challenge not to lose sight of each other and so contact “Where is he now …?” is then nice and especially handy. Again, the sets on this website offer a solution because of the small unit with convenient clip and the “in-ear” headset.

Other sports

Personally, I’ve also used my communication kits while running, while horseback riding during a private lesson in an insanely large indoor arena and during several outdoor rides, often in a group, where I then like to stay in touch with my partner for support. But I now know from others that these sets are used in many other sports and other occasions. For example, consider a BSO children’s group biking from school to the BSO where the first and last attendant can then communicate nicely about traffic conditions.
